14th Annual Ethics in Business & Community Award Finalists Announced

RecognizeGood is proud to announce the finalists for the 14th Annual Ethics in Business & Community Awards.

An event hosted at Concordia University Texas announced the award finalists on Wednesday, February 17. The Ethics in Business & Community Awards recognize the best in Central Texas leadership. Businesses, nonprofits and individuals in five categories received nominations from the community for their exemplary ethical leadership, outstanding ethical practices and excellent business principles including respect, fairness, honesty, justice, and sustainability.

RecognizeGood received nominations from May 2015 through January 2016. Concordia University Texas College of Business students then investigated the nominees. Next, students reviewed and researched the initial nominees and narrowed this list down to 15 finalists (three in each category). Now the students will begin a rigorous, in-depth review of each finalist. The next step is for students to present their findings to an independent selection committee of business and community leaders. Finally, this group will vote on the award recipients. The selection committee is led by Dr. Lynette Gillis, Dean of the College of Business at Concordia University Texas.

“The Ethics in Business & Community awards program is truly an exceptional educational experience,” Gillis said, praising the program and its impact on her students. “Our students have the opportunity to witness firsthand a community that comes together to support and celebrate the ethical business practices of honesty, fairness, respect, social justice, and sustainability.”

Concordia receives the Tom & Reina Wiatt Scholarship of $15,000 for their involvement with the research and selection process of selecting the finalists.

Finalists for the 14th Annual Ethics in Business & Community Awards are as follows:

The final awards will be announced at the annual awards luncheon in May 2016.  It is attended each year by hundreds of Central Texas business leaders and is expected to draw more than 600 attendees in 2016. This year’s Honorary Chairs are Bobby Jenkins, CEO of ABC Home & Commercial Services, and Earl Maxwell, CEO of St. David’s Foundation.  For more information about the event, sponsorships and tickets, please click here.
