Austin Chapter of National Charity League Honored with 20th RecognizeGood Lighthouse Award
RecognizeGood is proud to honor National Charity League – Austin with our 20th RecognizeGood Lighthouse Award!
The National Charity League (NCL) Austin Chapter’s impact on the Austin community spans the last 17 years. They provide volunteer support to 23 different nonprofits with over 6,200 ANNUAL volunteer hours. The organization includes 7th-12th grade girls and their mothers. The specific focus of the organization is to foster mother-daughter relationships through philanthropic leadership and cultural activities.
NCL’s 280+ members volunteer with many different organizations including: Austin Pets Alive!, Caritas of Austin, Central Texas Food Bank, Drive a Senior, Girlstart, Lifeworks, Mobile Loaves and Fishes and Texas Military Family Support. Additionally, many of the organization’s members choose to volunteer with Ronald McDonald House Charities. NCL dedicates over 650 annual volunteer hours specifically to Ronald McDonald House. Mother-daughter teams enjoy the unique opportunity the Ronald McDonald House provides to help other families during their difficult times.
George Mihalcik, RecognizeGood program director, presented the organization with several thank-you gifts – a $250 donation, an award plaque, two tickets to the 2018 Ethics in Business Award luncheon, and a pay-it-forward donation to Mobility Worldwide in the club’s name. With this, RecognizeGood gives the Austin Chapter of National Charity League a heartfelt THANK YOU on behalf of the community.
The RecognizeGood Lighthouse Award recognizes the selfless community efforts and philanthropy of Austin-area service clubs. By highlighting “special” organizations and telling their stories, we believe we will inspire others to make our community a better place. Award nominees may be sent to recognize@recognizegood.com, and are voted on by a selection committee according to the following criteria:
- Length of Service
- Magnitude of Service
- Special One-Time Event
