For over 20 years, Felecia Owens has been volunteering in the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk dedicating countless hours of her time planning, fundraising, and walking to support breast cancer survivors and honor those we’ve lost.

Felecia Owens has supported the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the More Than Pink (formerly Walk for a Cure) Walk in Austin for over 20 years now. Beyond participating in the walk, she is also a board member at the Susan G. Komen Foundation helping them plan the walk, creating sponsor tents for event day, tracking down new sponsorships and working with other survivors to ensure everyone feels loved and appreciated at this walk. The board meets once a month beginning in June to prep for the More Than Pink Walk that’s held each October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Felecia is the first person on every meeting, known by the team as “our person” according to Development Director Carly Samuelson, who says, “if we need someone to do something, she’ll always step up.”

During our Ethics in Business Awards ceremony on Friday May 15th, RecognizeGood  presented the Legend Award to Felecia on stage – making this the FIRST time we’ve ever recognized a Legend at the Ethics in Business Awards. The crowd cheered in excitement at the announcement, and listened to Felecia speak about what the Komen Foundation meant to her.
