Pflugerville Circle of Giving
For three decades now, Judy Pfeil has been volunteering with the Pflugerville Circle of Giving planning and hosting fundraisers from Galas to Bingo Nights to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas.
Judy Pfeil is moving at full speed in her work with the Pflugerville Circle of Giving (PCOG), and has been for nearly 30 years now. As an original member of the group, Judy has worked tirelessly to help children and families around Central Texas, helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Dell Children’s Medical Center and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas (RMHC). Over her time spent with PCOG she has seen the group grow and change, but Judy has remained constant.
At its inception, PCOG was hosting annual galas to raise funds for Dell Children’s Medical Center. As the community and economy changed, the group decided that they needed to try something new – Judy was a huge help in pivoting the group’s fundraising goals at that time. With a background in finance, Judy served as the group’s treasurer over the years and still today helps manage their finances and donations. Once PCOG started their monthly Spring Bingo Nights benefiting RMHC several years ago, Judy was all in! To this day, Judy and her husband Stanley are there from setup till breakdown. In fact, Judy has only missed 2 bingo nights in all of these years!
“At 81 years old, Judy and her husband Stanley even help set up tables and chairs for each bingo night,” says Pam Hebbe, fellow PCOG member and sister of Judy. “This can be very hard work for them, but they’re always there!” Judy’s dedication to helping her community has benefited not only Dell Children’s and RMHC, but also her fellow community members. Their Bingo Nights are not only for a good cause – they’re a popular event for the entire Pflugerville community, bringing everyone together for some friendly competition! Judy’s care for Central Texas is evident in the work that she has shown up and done year after year in service to others.
