RecognizeGood featured in Austin Business Journal!

Central Texas businesses are stepping up now more than ever to address pressing needs in our community, and Growing Good is dedicated to researching and measuring corporate generosity. This is a partnership between I Live Here I Give Here, RecognizeGood, and the Austin Chamber of Commerce. Recently, Executive Director, Joel Coffman, was interviewed by The Austin Business Journal on Growing Good. Below is their interview:

An annual survey of corporate charitable giving in Central Texas will be taken on by a new group.

Growing Good — a partnership between I Live Here I Give Here, the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, and RecognizeGood — will conduct this year’s Central Texas Corporate Giving Survey, previously known as the Rodman Report, according to an announcement.

The free, online survey opened Sept. 14 and will remain open through Sept. 30. It will be distributed to more than 1,500 corporate leaders and community groups, such as the Austin Chamber of Commerce’s Austin Gives program and the city of Austin’s Corporate Engagement Council, according to the announcement. The data will be used to identify trends in local corporate giving and employer engagement with the community.

The survey asks questions such as what drives giving or community investment, how organizations manage giving, and how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted giving.

“It is incredibly important for companies to participate in the survey,” Joel Coffman, executive director of RecognizeGood, said in a statement. “Robust survey participation gives us a great idea of how and why companies in our community give, what factors into that investment and the impact of corporate giving over time.”

This is the sixth year for the survey, which was previously administered by Rodman & Associates LLC and was an impactful gauge each year of corporate philanthropy in the Austin region.

Growing Good’s survey also has support from Texas Mutual Insurance Company, Netspend, Google, Elizabeth Christian Public Relations, and FingerPulse Media, according to the announcement.

“This has been a year unlike any other because of the health and economic challenges brought on by COVID-19,” Courtney Manuel, CEO of I Live Here I Give Here, said in a statement. “We are passionate about telling the story of corporate giving in Central Texas and know that our business community could become the most generous in America with the right inspiration and motivation.”
