RecognizeGood Spotlight: Mobile Loaves & Fishes
Back in November, 2010, we had the opportunity to honor Alan Graham, founder of Mobile Loaves & Fishes (MLF). MLF is a volunteer, faith-based, Christian outreach ministry. They provide food, clothing, and dignity to the homeless via an armada of catering trucks. These trucks hit the streets 365 days a year to feed the homeless wherever they may be. Alan received our November 2010 Legend award and it was an honor to learn about the ministry of MLF!
We received new inspiring updates from Alan and MLF from the last year. A new program was launched called ROADS, a micro-business entrepreneur program that allows homeless individuals to earn a living wage. You can find out more about this new endeavor by visiting the program’s website – it is truly inspiring! The entire Mobile Loaves & Fishes staff went on a trip to Kingston, Jamaica in October to work with Missionaries of the Poor. It was an amazing adventure—they have the photos up on their Facebook page. They also reached their 3 Million Meals benchmark! Nationwide the Mobile Loaves & Fishes truck communities have delivered more than 3 million meals on the streets of five cities across America!
Mobile Loaves & Fishes is a truly incredible ministry, and they are an incredibly inspiring organization to follow! Founder and RecognizeGood Legend Alan Graham was also featured in a short documentary called “Truck Run,” I hope you will take a moment to watch it and be inspired.
