2023 SAY THANKS, AUSTIN CAMPAIGN RULES

Below are the official rules, terms and conditions for saying thanks to one or more of our 2023 Legends in the “Say Thanks, Austin Campaign.”

RecognizeGood’s primary objective is to illuminate the good the extraordinary people of our community in the hope that others will be inspired to do additional good deeds of their own.  It is our desire to create a level playing field in the Say Thanks Campaign for all of the 2023 Legends.

Section 1. HOW TO “SAY THANKS”

You can “Say Thanks” using the following methods:  online through RecognizeGood.org, Facebook, Twitter / X, Instagram, mobile phone (text), email, or a “Say Thanks” form.  You can “Say Thanks” one time per day, per method for any or all of the 2023 Legends.  The use of any device, process and/or mechanism to automate “thank you” votes is strictly prohibited.  The Campaign is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Google, Apple, Facebook, email providers, and/or Twitter / X.  Each of these applications is subject to individual terms and conditions. You agree to release and hold harmless each of them from and against any and all claims, injuries or damages arising out of or relating to the participation in the Campaign.

1(a). Online: Visit www.recognizegood.org and follow the “Say Thanks, Austin” link to submit your “thanks” for any or all of the RecognizeGood Legends, Class of 2023 during the “Say Thanks” period as set forth in Section 2 below.  Standard internet connection fees may apply.

1(b). Facebook: Using your Facebook account, submit your “thanks” by sending a message to the RecognizeGood fan page at www.facebook.com/recognizegood which includes the last name of one or more Legends. Wall posts, mentions, or any method other than a message to the RecognizeGood fan page will not be counted.

1(c). Instagram: Using your Instagram account, submit your “thanks” by sending a direct message to the RecognizeGood Instagram page at @RecognizeGood and include the last name of one or more Legends. Stories, comments, or posts will not be counted, only a direct message.

1(d). Twitter: Using your Twitter account, submit your “thanks” by Tweeting the Legend’s last name to @recognizegood and including the hashtag, #SayThanksAustin.

1(e). Mobile Phone.  Using your mobile phone, submit your “thanks” during the “Say Thanks” Period by texting the Legend’s last name to (512) 456-9244.  This method shall be offered on an “as is” basis and may not be available worldwide or may not be available in the event of product, software, coverage and/or other service changes made by your wireless service provider or carrier.  Also, message and data rates may apply to each text message sent or received and other charges may apply according to your wireless service plan.

1(f).  Email.  Using your email account, submit your “thanks” by sending an email to saythanks@recognizegood.org including the Legend’s last name in the subject line.

1(g). “Say Thanks” Form.  You may fill out a “Say Thanks” form and return it to a RecognizeGood representative.  “Say Thanks” forms must be collected by 5:00PM on January 31, 2024.  Valid submissions must include a printed name, signature, and date – scans of any appropriate file type (jpg, png, pdf preferred) are accepted at saythanks@recognizegood.org.

Section 2. “SAY THANKS” PERIOD

The “Say Thanks, Austin” campaign commences on January 5, 2024 at 12:00:01 AM (CST) and ends on January 31, 2024 at 11:59:59 PM (CST).  Dates are subject to change and RecognizeGood will use reasonable efforts to post notice of any changes to the “Say Thanks” Campaign.  All manual “thank you” votes (i.e., forms) must be received by 5:00PM on January 31, 2024.

Use of any device to automate “thanks” is prohibited including, but not limited to, software-generated, robotic, programmed, script, macro, or other automated “thank you’s.”  RecognizeGood reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it suspects or finds: (a) to have used a software-generated, robotic, programmed, script, macro or other automated online or text message “thanks;” (b) to have tampered with the “thank you” process; (c) to be acting in violation of these Campaign Rules; or (d) to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or acting with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

The total number of “thank you’s” submitted during the “Say Thanks” period for each of the Legends will be tabulated by RecognizeGood and the Say Thanks, Austin winners will be determined in accordance with the Campaign rules.  If, for any reason, the “Say Thanks” Campaign is interrupted, is found to have been tampered with in any way, or otherwise disrupted, RecognizeGood has a rules committee that will make a decision on that particular issue.

If, for any reason, any part of the “thank you” process is not capable of performing as planned, or is interrupted by but not limited to computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical or system failures, Acts of God, terrorist attacks, or any other cause beyond the control of RecognizeGood which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the “thank you” process, RecognizeGood reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the “thank you” process.

Section 3. GENERAL TERMS

Participation in the Campaign is at your own risk.  RecognizeGood, its affiliated companies, related companies, sponsors, subsidiaries and any entity associated with the Campaign, including, but not limited to, Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter / X and/or other “thank you” mechanisms (Released Parties) are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (a) difficulty accessing the internet; (b) errors in transmission; (c) service outages or delays or for any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email or players on account of any technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or combination thereof; (d) any incomplete, lost, late, delayed, misdirected, or garbled “thank you’s” or failure to receive “thank you’s;” (e) injury or damage to your or to any other person’s computer or mobile phone related to or resulting from participating in or downloading materials or software, or attempts to participate in or download materials or software related to the Campaign, or (f) failures or malfunctions of phones (including wireless phones/handsets), phone lines or telephone systems, cellular equipment towers, telephone systems or wireless services or other communication malfunctions.  The Released Parties are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (a) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Released Parties that may cause the Campaign to be disrupted or corrupted; (b) typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the Campaign or (c) any errors in the announcement of the winners.

Participants assume all liability for any injury or damages caused or claimed to be caused by participation in the Campaign.  Participants hold harmless from any claim or liability associated with the production or exhibition of the Campaign the Released Parties, other parties, their respective officers, directors, members, partners, employees, shareholders, parents, subsidiaries and affiliates.

By participating in the Campaign, you agree to be bound by the Campaign Rules.  Failure to comply with the Campaign Rules may result in your disqualification solely at the discretion of RecognizeGood.  RecognizeGood reserves the right to modify the Campaign Rules at any time in its sole discretion.

All interpretations of the Campaign Rules and the decisions of RecognizeGood relating to the “thank you” process are final.
