Since 2018, teenager Remmer Machamer has raised over $130,000 for Wreaths Across America and has sponsored wreaths to lay on 3,300 graves of U.S. veterans interned at the Texas State Cemetery.

Remmer’s volunteer journey with Wreaths Across America began at the age of seven when he joined his mother at a Daughters of the American Revolution meeting and learned about Wreaths Across America’s mission. Saddened by hearing that 300 of the 3,300 U.S. veterans’ graves at the Texas State Cemetery didn’t receive wreaths, Remmer was determined to make sure that from that point forward all veterans interned would have one- a goal he has achieved through all his efforts.

During his trip to the Texas State Cemetery on Friday December 26th, RecognizeGood tagged along and got to see Remmer in action. Joined by his family and some of the Texas State Cemetery volunteers, we held a small  ceremony in his honor and recognized all the work he’s done for the community. Then, Remmer began wreath laying.
