2013 Ethics in Business & Community Winners

After gathering today with some of Austin’s most respected and admirable citizens, honoring many and appreciating all, it would be difficult to call our 11th Annual Ethics in Business & Community Awards ceremony anything other than a resounding success.  Attendance was fantastic, and we owe a HUGE thank-you to every single person who joined us at the AT&T Center today – honorees, nominators, former award recipients, friends, colleagues and guests.  Honorary Chairs Bobby Jenkins and Earl Maxwell made it look easy, keeping the tone light but the message serious throughout the afternoon. We live in a community that has an incredible sense of ethical responsibility. We all feed off of each other’s effort and energy – but there is always more to be done!

Each award recipient gave us heartfelt and sincere words, and truly showed those in attendance how deserving they were of recognition.  It’s funny how difficult it is for some of these amazing people to let the spotlight shine on them!  A common refrain through the afternoon was “doing things the right way – for the right reasons. We’ll post official photos, videos, and more over the coming days – but for now, let’s give our 2013 EiBC award recipients a round of applause.

And the winners are …

SMALL BUSINESS:  Wag-A-Bag

LARGE BUSINESS:  Texas Disposal Systems

NONPROFIT:  Impact Austin

INDIVIDUAL:  Matt Kouri (of Greenlights.org)

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:  Goodwill Industries of Central Texas

CONGRATULATIONS!  We are honored to recognize the good that these individuals and organizations have all done, and continue to do.  More to come soon!
