Austin Cosmopolitan Rotary Club boosts nonprofits near and far!

Chartered in 2007, the Austin Cosmopolitan Rotary Club (ACRC) is one of 35,000 Rotary International clubs worldwide. Their mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through their fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders – which is exactly what they do in Central Texas and across the globe!
Made up of 32 passionate members, ACRC relies heavily on its volunteers to see through their 12 projects done annually. Each project they do will get anywhere between 5 and 15 volunteers – but it doesn’t stop them from doing big things.
ACRC partners with dozens of nonprofits in Central Texas, consistently volunteering at SXSW with Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, signing up for “It’s My Park Day” events with the Austin Parks Foundation, to even helping with school beautification projects for Pecan Springs Elementary School.
Outside of our city limits, they’re making a big splash of impact as well! ACRC has partnered up with a local nonprofit, Well Aware, to repair a water well in Ndabibi, Kenya to serve a community of 20,000 people with clean water again. They have also partnered with a rotary club in India to create mental health awareness initiatives in their elementary school programs.
RecognizeGood’s executive director Joel Coffman presented this incredible group with a plaque, a $500 donation, and complimentary seats to the 2021 Ethics in Business Awards luncheon.
The RecognizeGood Lighthouse Award is intended to illuminate the selfless community efforts and philanthropy of area service clubs to tell their stories and inspire others to make our community a better place. The program began in 2015 and has recognized more than 20 area service groups since its launch.
