Ethics in Business & Community: Year Nine
For this final week of recapping the previous recipients of the annual Ethics in Business & Community awards, this week we would like to highlight and share with you the wonderful business, non-profit, and individual who were awarded during our ninth annual awards, held in 2011:
Business
Maxwell, Locke & Ritter – “Maxwell Locke & Ritter is an accounting, tax and consulting firm that helps dynamic companies and people achieve their dreams. We are the largest locally owned and managed accounting firm in the Greater Austin Area with offices in downtown Austin and Round Rock.

Non-Profit
The Care Communities – The Care Communities believes that no one should face a serious illness alone. Their staff and volunteer Care Teams demonstrate unconditional care through social services support, daily tasks, and genuine companionship for people with cancer or HIV/AIDS.
Individual
Gerald Davis – Gerald Davis is the President/CEO, Goodwill Industries of Central Texas, Inc. Gerald leads more than 1,100 people at Goodwill Industries of Central Texas. This organization generated revenue of more than $39 million in 2007. It is the 15th largest Goodwill organization in the world. Last year, Goodwill provided more than 23,000 services to 9,700 persons in 15 Central Texas counties. Under Gerald’s leadership, Goodwill received the 2004 Ethics in Business Award. They also received the 2006 and 2008 Best Places to Work awards, and 2002 and 2006 Annie E. Casey awards.
