Ethics in Business & Community: Year Six

In honor of our 11th Annual Ethics in Business & Community Awards coming up on May 2nd, 2013, we are continuing to highlight the amazing businesses, nonprofits, and individuals that we have had the honor of awarding over the last decade!

This week we are highlighting our sixth annual ceremony, held in 2007, with awards in the following categories:

Business

TyRex Group – The TyRex Technology Family of Companies is comprised of Megladon Manufacturing, iRex Custom Cable Group and Advanced Assembly Group, SabeRex, Silicon Services, SaberData, and Digital Light Innovations or DLI. Each one of these companies has carved out a niche in the high-tech market. They provide quality products and services exceeding customer expectations.

Nonprofit

Habitat for Humanity – “We’re best known for our Homeownership program that builds simple, quality homes in partnership with low-income families and the community. We also preserve homeownership and neighborhoods by helping low-income homeowners maintain their homes through our Home Repair program. Finally, we provide counseling, education and advice in housing issues to new and existing homeowners with our Housing Counseling program.”

After an unfortunate accident, Drake Trotter turned an overwhelming personal challenge into an opportunity to help others through “The Drake,” a charity golf tournament where he’s raised over $150,000 for the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation.
