Leadership Austin Joins Ethics in Business & Community Program
RecognizeGood is proud to announce a new partnership with Leadership Austin for the 15th Annual Ethics in Business Awards. Leadership Austin will select alumni from its renowned program to serve as the selection panel for the 2017 awards.

Ethics in Business & Community Program Director Scholley Bubenik commented, “When I first got involved with the program, it was more of an annual event. Through the efforts of many people who care deeply about the value of what Ethics in Business & Community represents, it’s gained lots of momentum over the past few years and has truly become a year-round movement. We are honored to expand the movement to include Leadership Austin.”
The Ethics in Business & Community Award recognizes the best in Central Texas leadership.
The community nominates businesses, nonprofits and individuals in five categories for their exemplary ethical leadership and outstanding ethical practices. These organizations and individuals represent business principles including respect, fairness, honesty, justice, and sustainability. First, students in the College of Business at Concordia University Texas review and research the nominees and select 15 finalists. Next, the students begin a rigorous, in-depth review of each finalist. Lastly, they present their findings to an independent selection committee who decide the final award recipients. The student involvement is led by Dr. Lynette Gillis, Dean of the College of Business at Concordia University Texas. Adjunct professor Dr. Jack Allen teaches the course.
“The Ethics in Business & Community awards program is truly an exceptional educational experience,” Gillis said, praising the program and its impact on her students. “Our students have the opportunity to witness firsthand a community that comes together to support and celebrate the ethical business practices of honesty, fairness, respect, social justice, and sustainability.”
Finalists will be announced March 2nd at Concordia University’s campus. The final awards will be presented at the annual awards luncheon on May 18th at the AT&T Conference Center in Austin, TX.
Hundreds of Central Texas business leaders attend the luncheon each year, with more than 600 attendees expected in 2017. RecognizeGood is a nonprofit that provides a means to illuminate selfless volunteers, charitable acts and community service throughout greater Austin.
