Lloyd Pond Recognized for Decade of Volunteering with Austin Classical Guitar
Amit2024-02-06T17:58:20-06:00Lloyd Pond has volunteered with Austin Classical Guitar for over a decade, not only repairing hundreds of guitars but shaping the very culture of the organization.
RecognizeGood honored Lloyd Pond with the 77th RecognizeGood Legend award in a presentation at Austin Classical Guitar (5900 Balcones Drive #240, Austin, TX 78731) on Thursday, August 9, 2018. During this event, RecognizeGood made a $1,000 pay-it-forward donation to Austin Classical Guitar in Lloyd’s name.
To volunteer is a noble thing, but to impact the culture of an organization is truly remarkable. That’s exactly what Lloyd has done at Austin Classical Guitar! He’s dedicated thousands of volunteer hours with the organization and saved the group tens of thousands of dollars, but talk to anyone who’s spent time with him and it’s plain to see his largest impact isn’t measured in hours or dollars. Despite his invaluable expertise in instrument repair, drop into the ACG office on a typical day and you’ll find Lloyd painting, taking out the trash, or watering the plants – anything the nonprofit needs, with a joyful smile and a joke for anyone within earshot. The entire staff raves about his inspiring kindness.
As a 2018 Legend, Lloyd is now eligible to participate in RecognizeGood’s Say Thanks Austin campaign, an annual event which presents Central Texas with a unique opportunity to say “thank you” to a group of remarkable individuals who contribute their time and talents to our community. The participant with the most Thank You votes receives a pay-it-forward donation of $10,000 to the nonprofit of their choice.
