Ricardo Zavala has given out over 90 college scholarships and has gathered 1,300 volunteers to serve the 78744 area
From scholarships to community-building, Ricardo Zavala has served his east Austin neighborhood tirelessly for over 11 years through the nonprofit Dove Springs Proud.
RecognizeGood, along with Ricardo’s fellow volunteer and friend Monica Maldonado, Founder of MAS Cultura, gathered at the Central Texas Food Bank to express our gratitude for the continued work that Ricardo has been doing for the past 11 years through Dove Springs Proud. In addition to hearing more about Ricardo’s volunteer journey we presented a $1,000 pay-it-forward donation in his name, to MAS Cultura. Through our small gathering, we were all able to learn more about two inspiring organizations who are putting in the work to better our communities and have a passion for supporting our youth. Monica pointed out Ricardo’s dedication to paving the way for the youth in his community despite having a full plate himself. “Despite working full time and having a family Ricardo has remained dedicated to serving the Dove Springs Community. This includes his commitment to the Youth of Dove Springs where he organizes and leads an annual youth leadership summit.”
