The High Road on Dawson Honored with 15th RecognizeGood Lighthouse Award

RecognizeGood is proud to honor The High Road on Dawson with our 15th RecognizeGood Lighthouse Award!

The High Road on Dawson has been in Austin since 1958. However, they changed their name to The High Road on Dawson in 2013. With those changes they were free to make a bigger difference in our community! The club has supported many noprofits and causes including Family Eldercare, Dolly Pardon Imagination Library, HAAM, JDRF, SCARE for the Cure, Sports Vision 20/20, various schools, Austin River School, The Girl Scouts of America, BCNA (Bouldin Creek Neighborhood Association), Fraternity of the Police, and Cub Scouts, to name a few. Because of their location and space they are privileged to offer a meeting and fundraising location for many other nonprofits.

In the past three years they have managed to raise a minimum of $15,000 and put this back into the community. In 2015 they totaled approximately $51,800 with cash, donations of goods and room donations and so far in 2016 they are beating that total at approximately $55,590 and counting! The High Road on Dawson is an old soul fraternity with lots of new blood and enthusiasm. They are a member-based, not for profit charity with over a century of tradition. Their determination to continue on their path to support the Austin community is special. They offer a place for the everyday person to be able to give to the community!

Matt Ache, president at award sponsor iRex Group, presented the club with several thank-you gifts – a $250 donation to the club, an award plaque, two tickets to the 2017 Ethics in Business & Community Award luncheon, and a pay-it-forward donation to PET-Austin in the club’s name. This recognition represented a sincere “Thank you!” for an amazing display of selfless service from the entire group at The High Road on Dawson.
