During this time, he has walked alongside the same mentee, Sam, who is now 21 years old and aged out of foster care. Eric has been a true friend, confidant, cheerleader, resource, role model, and advocate to Sam. By showing up repeatedly, he has earned Sam’s trust and become a part of Sam’s support system and close circle. Eric learned Math to help Sam when he was struggling with school. Someone like Eric is hard to find and I believe his story deserves to be shared. |

Thank you Uncle Frank for your 35 years of serving your guests. It was a real pleasure to volunteer years ago & to see the behind the scenes work that you did to get ready to serve all the guests. It really made me look at life differently and to know how fortunate I am to have a home & food to put on the table. Because of you I now volunteer to work at our soup kitchen . I’ve enclosed a picture of mom working at your soup kitchen . You not only touched my life but you sure did mom & dad Erven.
